Joey Melrose is bringing a new sound to the new wave. At just 21 years old, Joey’s unique and confident approach is highly polished and blends the lines between pop, hip hop, and the sounds of the underground to create catchy radio-ready tracks that feel fresh and of the moment. Since first entering the game with a splash in 2019 on the back of a fan-favorite collab with 916Frosty, Joey has connected with many of the most essential producers in the new wave including Cxdy, Bart How, pinkgrillz88, and BoysAreRolling to release a steady stream of singles outlining the progression of his emotive, genre-bending style. In 2022 he had his biggest year yet, finding himself featured on Spotify’s Fresh Finds HipHop: Best of 2022 Playlist as a result of his debut project Sincerely Me released in May, and its standout tracks: “Frunk” and “Starlet.” Going forward, Joey is adding new tools to his belt as he strengthens his production skills and continues to hone his distinct sound – looking to take full advantage of his prime positioning to capitalize on his early success in 2023.
